Assistant Nurse Manager - Mount Sinai Brooklyn - Emergency Department

• Assist the Nurse Manager and Director in assigning patient care activities for 75 FTEs.

• Evening and Night hours with some flexibility.

• Review clinical performance of nursing personnel via anecdotal records, conferences and evaluation process.

• Participate in the Department of Nursing’s and the Hospital Center’s Quality Improvement Program.

• Serve as a resource person for the nursing staff within the unit or other units.

• Serve as a preceptor role model in the clinical setting for staff and affiliating students.

• Assist in the planning and monitoring of the unit budget in conjunction with the Director, Nursing.

• Act as a member of the patient care service and Leadership Team; collaborate with and guide the interdisciplinary team members in achieving patient outcomes.

Clinical Duties

• Assist the Nurse Manager and Director in assigning patient care activities for 75 FTEs.

Administrative

• Participate in the Department of Nursing’s Quality Improvement Program.
• Assist in planning and monitoring the unit budget.

Teaching & Training

• Participate in the selection of staff members who may serve as preceptors.

Required

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
• Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in nursing.
• CEN certification.

Experience

Demonstrated competence in nursing leadership and applicable clinical specialty.
