Join the innovative team at Mount Sinai Health Systems as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where you'll contribute to groundbreaking research in immunology and nanomedicine. Located in the vibrant city of New York, this role offers access to state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth and scientific discovery.
Background Our lab strives to develop novel nanotherapeutics and imaging probes to study the innate immune system in health and disease, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and organ transplant rejection. Besides an extensive wet lab, we have access to a large vivarium, a cell culture room, and state-of-the-art flow cytometry, microscopy, and next-generation sequencing equipment. Furthermore, our cutting-edge imaging facilities (including PET, MR, IVIS, and CT modalities) allow clinically relevant readouts in both small and large animal models.
Responsibilities You will use in vitro assays and small- and large-animal models to unravel how the innate immune system regulates health and disease, including allograft rejection, atherosclerosis, and breast cancer. This will involve extensive collaboration with chemists, nanomedicine experts, and in vivo imaging specialists to develop novel tools for diagnosis and treatment and initiate their clinical translation. You will also share your results through scientific publications and oral presentations and function as part of a highly motivated multidisciplinary team.
Application procedure: Interested candidates can apply by email to bram.teunissen@mssm.edu. The following documents are required: A cover letter, Curriculum vitae, and at least two letters of support stating your suitability for this position.
