POSITION SUMMARY: As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist the inpatient pharmacy department staff in efficiently dispensing medications. Your responsibilities will include preparing bulk and batch sterile products, providing drugs and supplies to nursing stations, and producing accurate patient charges.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent is required. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Must maintain current registration with the NM Board of Pharmacy. SKILLS: Effective verbal and interpersonal skills are required, along with basic computer skills. Familiarity with medical terminology and basic math is preferred. EXPERIENCE: Hospital experience is preferred.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION: You will report to the Director of Pharmacy.
ENVIRONMENT: You may encounter occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous chemicals. The role requires moving throughout the hospital at a rapid pace and may involve lifting moderate loads (less than 50 lbs.).
